After the good reception received by Agatha All Along, Marvel fans are eagerly looking forward to what’s next from Marvel and Disney. At the D23 event held in Brazil, Marvel head Kevin Feige made some interesting announcements for Marvel, and along with it, we also got to see some exciting announcements for movies and shows coming from Disney. So, without any further ado, let’s take a look at everything we got to see at D23 Brazil 2024!
1. New Captain America: Brave New World Trailer
One of the biggest announcements at D23 was the reveal of a new trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. This trailer showcased Giancarlo Esposito in an orange jumpsuit indicating that he was captured after he tried to assassinate Thaddeus Ross, the President of the United States. However, it seems as if he is being controlled by someone very much like the Winter Soldier was. The trailer also showcased some combat clips between Sam and the Red Hulk and it looks insanely well done. So, it looks like Marvel is leveling up its game for their upcoming projects. Captain America: Brave New World will release on February 14, 2025.
2. New Look at Marvel’s Thunderbolts
Another exciting reveal was a new clip from Thunderbolts showcasing some new clips with the ones we have already seen in the official trailer. The new clip suggests that Bucky was the one who brought the Thunderbolts to Valentina in the Stark Tower, now owned by the CIA. We also get to see some humor being incorporated in the movie which fits just right and does not seem to be overdone. However, it is too soon to say anything but by the looks of it, so far so good.
3. Storm in What If Season 3
At the D23 Brazil, it was also revealed that Storm will appear in What If… Season 3, which is going to be the final season of the franchise. Previously, there were rumors of a major Marvel character appearing in What If and it seems like that character is none other than Storm.
In the poster displayed at the event, Stom is visible in the “R” and it has been reported that in the episode featuring Storm, she will be wielding the Mjolnir.
4. Live-Action Miles Morales
Another character whose live-action appearance has been long anticipated is somewhat confirmed to finally happen. During the D23 Brazil, Kevin Feige hinted towards the live-action debut of Miles Morales following the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. In his statement, Kevin stated-
“Miles will appear in the third ‘Spider-Verse’ movie, which is in production. I hope that, shortly after that, he can enter the MCU in live-action”
The inclusion of Miles Morales in the MCU was first hinted at by the appearance of Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Following this, he also appeared in Across the Spider-Verse as the live-action Prowler.
5. X-Men After Avengers: Secret Wars

The biggest reveal according to me was the confirmation of the timeline when the X-Men will join the live-action MCU. At D23 Brazil, Kevin Feige confirmed that Mutants are going to play an important role in MCU following Avengers Secret Wars, saying that they are “an important part of that future”. In his comment, he stated-
“When we were preparing for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ years ago, it was about reaching the big finale of our narrative, and after that, we had to start everything over again. This time, on the road to ‘Secret Wars,’ we already know very well what the story will be up to that point and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future.”
The first step towards the inclusion of mutants in the MCU was Deadpool and Wolverine which made the two heroes a part of the MCU. So, if that statement stands to be true, there is a possibility that we can see the characters we saw in the movie return in future Avengers projects. So, let’s see what happens!
Also, we got our first look at Magneto in X-Men 97′ Season 2, for which I am really excited.
6. Wanda’s Return

Kevin Feige also addressed the possibility of Elizabeth Olsen’s return to Marvel as Wanda. He said that while working on Agatha, his team kept Wanda fans in mind and expressed his excitement for how and when they can bring back Wanda on screen. He addressed fans by saying-
“We recently had ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ on Disney+, and that series was great for us. Since then, many questions about Wanda have lingered in fans’ minds. So, all I can say is that we’re excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch might return.”
As of now, there is no confirmation when and how she will make her return but rumors state that Wanda could come back in the upcoming series revolving around Vision or her own solo movie.
7. Blade Is Still Happening
Recently it came to light that Blade has now been delayed once again and Kevin Feige addressed this in front of everyone present at D23 Brazil. He stated that Marvel is completely dedicated to bringing Mahershala Ali on screen as Blade and that he will “indeed make it to the MCU”. While addressing the audience he said-
“Whenever we change direction with a project, or are still trying to figure out how it fits into our schedule, we let the public know. You’re up to date with what’s happening. But I can tell you that the character will indeed make it to the MCU.”
So, with that being said, let’s see what next we get to hear about Blade from Marvel Studios.
