The USA U-19 eased past the West Indies U19 team by 37 runs in the 1st T20I at St Augustine on Saturday.
Chasing 107 for victory, West Indies lost five wickets in the last four overs to collapse to 69 for 9.
Skipper Samara Ramnath top-scored with 27 off 41 balls while Brianna Harricharan got 22 off 33 balls in the loss.
Aditi Chudasama took 4 for 12 in her four overs, while Maahi Madhavan took 2 for 13 in four overs for the USA.
Earlier, Selena Ross (3/12) and Jahzara Claxton (3/20) did a good job with the ball for the West Indies in limiting the USA to 106 for 8.
Ritu Singh (29) and skipper Anika Kolan (22) were the main contributors with the bat for the USA.
The second match of the five-game series is on Monday from 10 at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St Augustine.
